Our 90 minute and three-hour dynamic workshops go hand-in-hand with our Romeo and Juliet stream, and offer the opportunity to explore strategies for unlocking Shakespeare’s most famous text and to develop practical toolkits.
From 19 September 2020 we’ll also be continuing our professional development (CPD) courses for teachers online. Our partnership with Deutsche Bank goes beyond just performances. Now, thanks to the wide-reach of digital technology, we’re thrilled students, families and young people from around the world will be able to watch Romeo and Juliet to further support their education and learning. Packed with love, family feuds and a dose of comedy, our Romeo and Juliet is a full-scale, fast-paced 90 minute performance in the Globe Theatre, and is the perfect introduction to Shakespeare. Supported by Deutsche Bank as part of Born To Be, their global youth engagement programme which aims to help young people prepare for the future and unlock their potential, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank sees Shakespeare’s plays adapted in to fast-paced productions with young people in mind.Īfter the success of our stream of our 2020 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Macbeth on our YouTube channel earlier this May – July, which had over 470,000 views, we turn to our thirteenth Playing Shakespeare production, Romeo and Juliet, which was originally performed in spring 2019 to students and young people from across Birmingham and London.
One of the most impactful and longest running cultural education projects in the UK, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank is now in its fourteenth year, and is our flagship project for secondary and post-16 further education students.
